That is not entirely reliable, what happens when someone clicks on a link or an attachment the UTM has let it passed? Will you endpoint actually try to block that or just let it download? UTMs are not the security you think they are, you need both a firewall and an endpoint protection. Granted, this will change with mobile media and being certain DPI is running as well as scanning all attachments, downloads and yada yada yada.Įvery time we "test" an AV solution we see a hit in performance.so, assuming the UTM criteria is met.I would not waste the time looking at solutions to problems you may not have. For someone running full UTM, I simply do not see a gain with paying more for an AV software that tends to REALLY slow systems down.
